All Skinister merchandise is shelf-ready and marked with GS1 barcodes. Here’s a quick break-down of UPC-A codes:

1) Number System – The first digit designates a product category, such as non-food items, over-the-counter drugs, or coupons. Most products begin with a “0” for the general product category.

2) Manufacturer Code – The next block of numbers specifies the manufacturer. For example, Skinister merchandise always includes the prefix 81004949.

3) Product Code – The product code is unique to each product.

4) Check Digit – The last digit is mathematically related to the digits that preceed it. Systems use this digit to detect errors. 

GS1 Data Hub
